It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to heaven, we were all going direct the other way – in short, the period was so far like the present period, that some of its noisiest authorities insisted on its being received, for good or for evil, in the superlative degree of comparison only.
Charles Dickens

Charles Dickens is also the author of the amazing play , Christmas Carol which we read during our learning and thoughtful times in Mr. Sznajder’s class. We have had some of the best of times and some of the worst of times in class. Mr. Sznajder is always reminding us that this is the age we learn most from and start to mature. This is the age that we will decide if we will go direct to heaven, or direct the other way in our learning careers. The learners in Mr. Sznajder’s class will achieve higher goals and go to heaven, but the students will achieve less and may go the other way.                      We have a lot to learn in the future if we accept the knowledge given  to us. (drink the water!!!)

In Texas history I make many connections in there every day. When we have to write an essay in Coach Janek’s  class I just think of all the strategies that Mr. Sznajder has taught us this year. For the Expository essays I remembered to include a thesis so I could state my two major main ideas for the essay. I also tried to include some figurative language to make the essay more interesting. And I started my wonderfully, well thought out essay with an amazing metaphor and weaved it throughout the essay. As a result  all of that hard work and paying attention to what Mr. Sznajder   teaches us Coach Janek said that my essay was one of the best essays in my class.

Thanks Mr. Sznajder 🙂

… slide into the softness if snow, the darkness of night, the warm comfort of sleep. Jonas was to weak, he didn’t have enough strength. For a split second he thought about going back, back to the place where there was food, warmth, water, friends, and no problems. But when Jonas looked at Gabe’s young fright full face he realized something important. In the community of “perfectness” there was no Love  no exploring new emotions nothing about that place was perfect. That’s when Jonas stood up using all his strength, but there was no use. He was just to weak. Jonas closed he’s eyes then heard Gabe trying to say something. Trying to yell something important using all he’s effort. But Jonas eyes still stayed closed

Joan’s eyes slowly opened to a dark shadow above him. He couldn’t make out the object. It seemed tall, some what narrow. Worried he tried turning he’s head looking for Gabe, but nothing was there. Still terrified about the object in front of him he looked up and realized it was the Giver. He spoke in a low voice yet quickly. “Hurry Jonas their coming, they already took Gabe”.
